Regional Job Fair (Cotabato City)

In celebration of 123rd Labor Day, the Bangsamoro Government thought the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) in collaboration with the private companies holds a job fair on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at CityMall, Cotabayo City to help its constituents in the region. (Marhom Ibrahim/BIO) The job fair brought together hundreds of job seekers and dozens of participating employers from various industries—including manufacturing, construction, education, healthcare, and retail—resulting in several applicants being hired on the spot. MOLE Minister Muslimin Sema underscored the ministry’s crucial role in addressing unemployment, stating, “It has always been MOLE’s mission to promote and provide equal employment opportunities and develop human resources across the Bangsamoro region, among other mandates.” Together with partner companies and government agencies, MOLE offered a range of employment opportunities in different fields and with various responsibilities—aiming to ensure more inclusive growth across communities. “Hopefully, these fortunate applicants would value this rare opportunity and become responsible on their obligations with the company,” Sema emphasized. The Ministry also noted that individuals—regardless of educational background, profession, age, or physical ability—were welcome to apply and undergo initial screening and interviews under the initiative. Among those hired on the spot was 44-year-old Edrudin Edzhlama from Cotabato City, who had been searching for a job for nearly two years before being hired by 3ME Agencies. “I didn’t expect to be hired right away, so I’m incredibly grateful for this event. It’s a huge help to job seekers like me,” Edzhlama said. He also pledged to do his best in his new job, saying he did not want to waste the trust given to him by his new employer. “I will make sure I do my job well because it’s rare to be hired on the spot, especially with so many applicants,” he added. In addition to job placements, the fair also offered services such as skills profiling, career coaching, and on-site registration with partner agencies, including the Pag-IBIG Fund and cooperative registration services.
