The United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) new Resident Representative in the Philippines paid a courtesy call on Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) Minister Muslimin "Bapa Mus" G. Sema earlier today, Feb. 4, at the MOLE Regional Office in Cotabato City, as part of the former's first official visit to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). During the courtesy call-meeting, UNDP Philippines Resident Representative Christophe Bahuet, along with his team, expressed the UNDP's enthusiasm in continuing to improve the lives of Filipinos and the Bangsamoro people through inclusive initiatives for sustainable development. Having years of partnership with the UNDP, Minister Sema also shared the different programs and services implemented by the MOLE across the Bangsamoro region, aligning with the UNDP's goals and agenda. Tie-ups for labor programs were discussed as well. Mr. Bahuet signified the support of UNDP in human development programs with a focus on governance, peacebuilding, economic transformation, and innovation through technological advancements like the use of artificial intelligence. The Ministry of Labor and Employment, led by Minister Muslimin "Bapa Mus" G. Sema, envisions a decent, competitive, productive, and sustainable employment in the Bangsamoro.
